At least five of you were fans of my not-ready-for-HGTV house-hunting series with the cheeky, but not very SEO-savvy name. Turns out every time I sent my husband a video link, it couldn’t get past his company’s firewall due to its name. Also, duh, we bought a house. So series has taken a turn. Now that we’re attempting to make our outdated house into a dream home the vlog series is to be know as the Reluctant Renovator. Take a peek at our first episode and read below for details about the Serta iComfort Sleep System giveaway
In May, I had the opportunity to visit Serta headquarters and get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what goes into a quality mattress. I also got the chance to try out a dreamy iComfort Sleep System. It’s cool and comfortable. And even though it’s a foam system, it comes with a variety of firmness levels. So Serta has basically taken all the reasons I avoided foam mattress systems (the heat, the overwhelming squishiness) and thrown them out the door.
As I said in the video above, I have literally been dreaming of the day I receive mine. Sadly, that day is weeks months away.
With their just-in-time production methods, they don’t have one simply sitting around with my name on it, but they’ll make and send my sleep system when I’m my bedroom is ready. (I’m am partial to the Genius model, queen size, FWIW).
Even better, they are offering you one, too!

My son just turned 4 and is still in a toddler bed!
We bought him a twin bed right after we moved last year. We went to the same store and bought (supposedly) the same comfortable mattress our daughter has. When we got it home and set up and put his new big boy Thomas & Friends sheets on it, I layed on it and it was so incredibly stiff!
I took it right back. A year later, literally almost a year to the day, he’s still in that toddler bed.
He’s going to be a tall one. I’d love to get him a mattress that will last him a long time.
My parents could use a new bed! Theirs is way too old and my dad ends up sleeping in a recliner half the night.

So my husband and I bought a Serta mattress 10+ years ago. We spent about $1500 – so not cheap at the time. It is a pillowtop, but only on one side – so no flipping. Well, within a few years, I realized that this mattress was not for me, but my hubby disagreed and was thinking about how much we spent on it. Well, by now, I wake up hurting every morning. My arms fall asleep when I lay on my side – so I wake up in the middle of the night with pins and needles. Unfortunately, dh got laid off in January, so I can’t even dream of buying a new mattress. Our mattress is our original from when we were married 28 years ago. – lol – It’s been through all five of our kids has a dip that rolls my husband and I to the center every night, as we sleep. I need a new mattress. Mine is over 15 years old and you can literally feel the springs in it when you roll over. My husband hasn’t slept in the bed for almost 5 years now cuz he is too sore in the morning!

Our current (queen sized)mattress is of undetermined age and orgin – It was left by the previous owner of our house. After a year of basically ignoring it in an empty bedroom, we discovered that it was more comfortable than the (double)futon we were sleeping on and we migrated to the mattress. While it was once a good place to sleep 12 years have taken its toll on it (and us) and now both my husband and I wake up with technicolor back aches each and every morning – nevermind the divot in the middle of the bed. In short – we’d love a new mattress.

So here is why we need a new mattress,and a cooler one at that. First it’s been over 100 degrees too much down south in the month of June secondly and more important we have a tempurpedic. And while love itmy husband doesn’t. He is sweating every night and therefore most nights he just hops on over to the couch. Doesn’t make for a fun evening spouseless in bed. So, needless to say we are so ready for a new bed that won’t make him dehydrated. Not to mention, he is a stomach sleeper and not really conducive to our mattress and a good back in the AM!

I need a new mattress. Why? Mine is from the day I graduated college, no joke. Every time anyone touches anything near the bed, it shakes and bounces – very distracting for those of us trying to sleep!
PS learned lots this week about having FB as part of giveaway entries, including as optional ones. Major no no, even having ppl mention it on their pages is against terms of service. You can do things w/ third party apps easily though. Nonetheless, I have to revamp all my stuff now!

WOW, do we need a new mattress! Then we can ditch the blow-up mattress we currently call a “guest bed,” move our old mattress into the guest room and sleep on this baby! When my parents visit, we have to give them our bedroom because my mom can’t get up and down off the air mattress.

We got our mattress about 5 years ago and went ‘high end’ with another brand only to realize that ‘high end’ just mean we were bamboozled at the mattress store.
Good thing ‘crappy mattress’ is not grounds for divorce in any state or I’d be sleeping single in a king sized bed.

Literally last night my husband and I were talking about a new mattress and I was thinking secretly that it was something that wouldn’t happen for the next 3 years — unless one fell into my lap via random drawing!

My husband and I are going on 8 years with our 200$ Macy’s mattress that has been moved three times and about to e number four. With two children under 2 it has been a struggle to make ends meet while in total we work four jobs. Were passing ships on the night, and that might consists of a very uncomfortable mattress!! I need a new mattress because I can’t even remember how long I’ve had my old one!
I would love a new mattress because mine is TERRIBLE! We just got it 2 yrs. ago, but it’s awful! I’m pregnant (6 months along), which makes things uncomfortable enough when sleeping, but the mattress ensures that things are super uncomfortable!
Would love to win a great new mattress. My husband just had a 2 level spinal fusion and disc replacement. Our old pillow top is just not cutting it. An adjustable bed would also be nice for nursing a newborn. Due in a few days!!

I need a new mattress because our current mattress came from my grandma’s house! The set belonged to my dad as a child and became the guest set at my grandma’s. When she downsized I was in high school and it went to my dad’s basement until I needed it. Then I took it to a few apartments in Chicago. After my husband and I got married we took with us to an apartment in Minneapolis. And now it’s in our house. Boy is it time for something new!!!!

This mattress sounds so fab! I’d never be able to afford it though, so winning one is my only shot! My husband and I both regularly wake up with back/neck pain and I know we could greatly benefit from this! Our current mattress is about 11 years old, so definitely time for a new one!
I actually tried the iComfort in a local store and LOVED it! I have arthritis and currently use a memory foam topper that helps with joint pain, but need something more adjustable. I think the iComfort Sleep System would be a perfect solution. Thanks!

We are SOOOO in need of a new mattress. We took my parents’ 1970s bedroom suite (which was being used in the guest room) when we moved into our new house back in November. Sadly, though, Mom had given away her “good mattress” set to a friend of hers in exchange for their “not-so-comfy” set. Not-so-comfy? How about hard as a rock?! For a while, my husband and I thought, well once you lay down maybe it’s not so bad…well, after a few months, it is that bad. And the morning backaches are getting old. Definitely time for a new mattress! Hope you pick us! Thanks and stuff…

Oh my golly gosh! My current mattress is the absolute WORST (or as my son would say worstess) mattress on the face of the planet. I wake up with an aching back, sore hips and not rested. We need a new mattress b/c we have two big dips where my dh and I sleep but since they are not 4 inches or more (that would be very very very deep indeed) our mattress co will not replace it per their warranty. So now gravity sinks us back into our holes every time we try to roll next to each other (that’s all I’ll say about that!)
Our old mattress for our guest room was ruined in a storage unit. It would be nice to have another one to replace it!

I would love a new bed more than anything. My husband and I bought a new Simmons Backcare mattress 5 years ago. It has 7 inch imprints. We call it the pancake mattress. We called to get help because we paid over 2k plus had a warrenty. I was speaking to the agent on the phone and she asked me to read her the numbers on the tag i took off my mattress protectant and read her the info then i look over and my 2 year old son who was potty training pee’d on the bed as i was on the phone. We never once had the protector off the bed except for this phone call. The pee stained the bed and when the people came to inspect the mattress the warrenty was void due to the stain. We are stuck with this aweful mattress. Being 8 months pregnant i keep sleeping on the couch so i dont sink in this AWEFUL bed. Please help. melaniecalcut@gmail.com

We are in dire need of a new mattress.
My husband is 6’3, we have three kids and we currently sleep on a old queen mattress which causes my hips and back to ache every morning. (and that is when the kids don’t try to pile in and i get pushed to the absolute edge. At that point I give up on sleep) while some might enjoy being tussled everytime my husband decided to move in his sleep (which is ALOT) I do not. I can go on for days about my crudy bed but will spare you, instead saying a new mattress would probably make a new mama around my house. My kids would thank you as much as me.

I would LOVE this mattress! We have a waterbed (I know, so 1980s) because the husband gets HOT when he sleeps. A waterbed is the only thing that keeps him cool enough to sleep.
