Excuse me, I’m a little ferklempt at the moment. See that shiny glass doorknob and the old skeleton key over there on the right? They are now mine! We closed on the house.
Time for celebration!
And a reality check. I have to get us hooked up with electricity and gas. We have a plumber and a contractor coming this week. Another contractor and a floor guy next week. And a window guy, maybe a bathroom consultation and oh, the plumbing woes. Not to mention the foundation crack that needs to be sealed ASAP.
Which all means that I’m lightening my load this summer in order to focus on home and family (and blogging, of course) and won’t be heading to Park City, Utah for the marvelous EVO conference.

Haha Kim, I was going to comment anyway, even without the bribes! Congratulations and welcome (back) to the wonderful world of homeownership. If the rest of the house is as cool as the doorknob, you’ve got a great place. So get this … despite all the work we’ve put into our house, I found out today that we are uninsurable until we do the rest of the (five-figure) repairs that the insurance company demanded that we make. Even other companies won’t insure us, now that we’ve been canceled. So, I will be joining you in the Reluctant Renovator camp, as we continue to feed the money pit!
